When You Wish Upon a Star…
At close down every night, we instill a calming behavior mechanism by singing the song “When you wish upon a star.” Repeated singing of this song nightly assures the homeless hound that bedtime is here, that familiar friends are present, and the hounds lay down for the night. This also gives a new adoptive family the ability to calm a stressed hound easily; simply by singing or humming this melody.
At bedtime, it is absolutely astounding to see them get their bed time cookies, then settle down, snuggle into the hundreds of donated blankets, and have their Mama Dawn sing “When You Wish Upon a Star” to the background of sighs, snuffling ,and soft snoring … and the final words “I love you babies. Good night.”
