We are VERY proud of our Youth Program. So when the call came in that Hilary Swank and her Foundation (Hilaroo) wanted us to participate in a youth-rescue dog educational camp, we were kinda excited! Rescued Basset Hounds – with rescued KIDS!
Immediately jumping to the occasion, we identified 10 of our hounds that were bomb-proof kid friendly. We groomed them up, rushed the paper- work, and loaded up the vehicles and headed off for a first-time program pairing:

Using the incredible HARNESS LEAD, this project took on new dimensions.
Hound Wranglers: Janine Smith, Colleen Lange, Aris Burns, Kimberly Walker and Dawn Smith brought hounds: Traveler, Cora, Mariah, Sampson, Gertie, Murphy (aka Charm), Winston, Spot, Lexi and Tinkerbelle.
