GOLDEN EMPIRE BASSET RESCUE
FIRST ANNUAL CHRISTMAS WADDLE

Our networking sister rescue organization, Golden Empire Basset Rescue, is holding their first annual Christmas Waddle this Thursday December 6, 2007 in Bakersfield. 

For those who may not know, many hounds become displaced in the Kern County Area, and we here at BaRNI and Daphneyland have been networking the area for years.  We would like to show as much support as we possibly can for Golden Empire, and thus we invite everyone to join us at this parade. 

That's right, we will be in attendance!! Details are as follows: 

Families and hounds are requested in festive gear at the Golden Empire Float by 5 p.m. at M Street between 22nd Street and 23rd Street in Bakersfield, the float is #49. 

The float will leave at 5:30 and covers a 1 mile route - hounds and humans will be riding and the parade will end at 8 p.m.

This parade will be shown live on KGET and will be available on demand at other times, so if you are in the area and miss the parade, be sure to try to catch the coverage!! 

A Waddle is a fundraiser.  The concept is that you ask friends, co-workers and family members to donate to sponsor your hound - and at the event, you turn in your pledges made payable to Golden Empire Basset Rescue (GEBR), a non-profit basset hound rescue organization.  The homeless hounds of Kern County benefit from these donations - and you and your hound get to enjoy a great evening of fun and participation with a gaggle of bassets decked out in Holiday cheer!! 

What better way to start the Holiday Season?
