Hounds

Update on Chance. His supporters give him several nicknames: Daphneyland's Pilgrim Chance, Thanksgiving Wishes, Christmas Hopeful

Red heart November 27, 2009 - Chance is still with us and gaining strength. Lab work is not yet back, but he's assimilating fluids, and is NOT out of the woods YET.

Dr. Kim is optimistic that he can make it.

Coughing and hacking, parvo is hot, hot, hot - yet Chance wants to live and steals turkey next year. We're all working overtime to give him that opportunity.

November 28, 2009 - Chance is released from the hospital to recouperate at Basset Rescue Network. He is in quarantine for at least 30-day. Extreme care is required.

Parvo pup Chance

Chance's buddy is a small toy while being quarantine. The small toy seems bigger than Chance!

A Plea before Thanksgiving 2009 went out for a 3-mo old basset puppy at a cold city shelter with parvo - dead dog still breathing - no name - ID #A1078642

Parvo pup Chance

Nobody wanted a parvo puppy. Vet bill treating a parvo puppy is very high. Survival rate is very slim.

November 25, 2009 - an incredible team, BarniatDaphneyland, BHRSC, and shelter workers pulled together. We brought this puppy to our wonderful vet at Roswin Pet Hospital - a pup's Thanksgiving Wishes.

Dr. Kim stayed at his office over the Thanksgiving holiday to treat this parvo puppy. Thank YOU very much, Dr. Kim.

Initial exam revealed parvo, emaciated as well as pneumonia. IV, antibiotics, liquid suplements and lots of medications were in order.

"Chance" is now his name.

"Chance" must have a chance to live. He is only 8 to 9 weeks old, and weighes no more than ten pounds!
